New Botoxed Renault Twingo

Our favorite French auto maker Renault has given us a first glimpse of the facelifted Twingo, which is adopting one of Laurens van den Acker’s design concepts, head-chief of the creation department within the Group. As we can see from the official picture, the front grill and headlights have had a little botox treatment while the fog lights will be re positioned to give Twingo a nastier stance. The rims will also get a new design while the interior will be overhauled with bolder and better kit. According to the auto maker Twingo is the way of the futere. The facelifted Twingo will get the same motor range as the current version. Low end 1149 cc and the same 133 horsepower top of the line. A hybrid or electric version of the Twingo should make its appearance someplace late in 2013. The Renault Twingo facelift will make its official appearance during the Frankfurt Motor Show this September, and will probably hit the showrooms right after the event. Socially it’s always been a given that tactile affection was a girls domain, anecdotally women NEED to be touched? Turns out cuddling and caressing are more important to men than women in a long-term relationship, according to a new international study. Researchers have discovered that men are more likely to be happy in their relationship and that frequent kissing or cuddling was an accurate predictor of happiness for men. Researchers at Indiana University’s Kinsey Institute, Sexual Psychophysiology Lab, examined more than 1,000, surprisingly, frequent kissing or cuddling predicted happiness in the relationship for men, but not for women. Both men and women reported more happiness the longer they had been together, and if they themselves scored higher on several sexual functioning questionnaires. “I was a little surprised,” said Dr Julia Heiman, the director of Indiana University’s Kinsey Institute, Sexual Psychophysiology Lab, which conducted the study that will be published in the Archives of Sexual Behaviour journal M★S READ MORE

Protoscience: In the philosophy of science, a protoscience is an area of scientific endeavor that is in the process of becoming established. Protoscience is distinguished from pseudoscience by its standard practices of good science, such as a willingness to be disproven by new evidence, or to be replaced by a more predictive theory. Sometimes scientific skeptics refer to protoscience as “pathological sciences”. “Protoscience” is a term sometimes used to describe a hypothesis which has not yet been tested adequately by the scientific method, but which is otherwise consistent with existing science or which, where inconsistent, offers reasonable account of the inconsistency. Some protosciences go on to become an accepted part of mainstream science, for example; astrology and alchemy – at a time before invention of the scientific method – might be called “protosciences” by historians of science, but after the invention of the scientific method, when some practitioners refused to adopt the scientific method, the fields were then labeled “pseudoscience”. Several sciences started as branches of philosophy: mathematics, natural philosophy, economics, psychology, sociology, and the same may end up, historically, being the case for some culturaltraditional, or ancient practices. A “protoscience” may be a field where the hypothesis presented may or may not be in accordance with the known evidence at that time, and a body of associated predictions have been made, but the predictions have not yet been tested, or cannot be tested, due to current technological limitations. Such was the case for general relativity at the time of its proposal, which is now considered science, and the case for string theory, which at the time of this article writing is a protoscience. So why do we mention this – protoscience - because we’ve added it as a category on our science page www.highpants.com/cankler M★S A Willingness to Disprove, That’s a Real Live Scientist!?

Russian Scientist Expects to Meet Aliens by 2031

Russian scientists expect humanity to encounter alien civilizations within the next two decades, a top Russian astronomer predicted.

“The genesis of life is as inevitable as the formation of atoms… Life exists on other planets and we will find it within 20 years,” Andrei Finkelstein, director of the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Applied Astronomy Institute, was quoted by the Interfax news agency as saying.Speaking at an international forum dedicated to the search for extraterrestrial life, Finkelstein said 10 percent of the known planets circling suns in the galaxy resemble Earth. If water can be found there, then so can life, he said, adding that aliens would most likely resemble humans with two arms, two legs and a head. ”They may have different colour skin, but even we have that”  Finkelstein’s institute runs a programme launched in the 1960s at the height of the Cold War space race to watch for and beam out radio signals to outer space. ”The whole time we have been searching for extraterrestrial civilisations, we have mainly been waiting for messages from space and not the other way”
