New York Mayoral Candidate Anthony Weiner Caught-up in NEW Sexting Scandal

The WeinerNew York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner, who was forced to resign from Congress over a sexting scandal, has admitted sending more lewd texts and photographs to a young woman.

For anygirl who’s used the services of a dating website – hand shoots up – a male posting pix of his weiner isn’t anything new. While the general population is left with the belief that sexting is a teen propensity, most grown men – around a quarter in my experience – proudly post mobile manifestation of their member on about the fourth or fifth encounter.

According to news website The Dirty, Mr Weiner, 48, used the name “Carlos Danger” to contact the woman on Facebook and establish an online relationship with her which involved the exchange of intimate photographs.

Amusingly, a poll last week suggested Mr Weiner was well-placed to become the Democratic candidate to succeed Michael Bloomberg as the mayor of New York City, with voters apparently largely indifferent to his scandal-tainted past, a sign perhaps the NY girls get as many spammy-sexting pix as Huma Abedin? :: Read the full article »»»»

Yahoo Snaps-upTumblrInternet pioneer Yahoo has confirmed that it intends to purchase popular blogging website Tumblr for more than $AU1.1 billion. Analysts say the acquisition is part of an effort by Yahoo to connect with a younger, hipper crowd as part of its battle to revive an ailing audience, and to up the fight with rival search engine Google’s global domination.

Tumblr, which was founded in 2007 by a high school drop out, is now one of the web’s most popular social media sites. Yahoo has been searching through a range of possible acquisitions since the mighty Ms Mayer took the helm last year, vowing to revive the company, which has seriously wilted in the face of competition from Google.

Tumblr could be key to Yahoo’s strategy, its popularity with younger internet users is unsurpassed. A survey this year conducted by the online data group Survata found Tumblr more popular than Facebook among those aged 13 to 25. While Tumblr generates very little cash, bringing it in the Yahoo family could offer the potential for new advertising and other revenue sources :: Read the full article »»»»

North Korea Launches Missile at Japan ...oopsSeems emergency response workers in the Japanese city of Yokohama are a little trigger happy after mistakenly announcing the launch of a North Korean missile to 40,000 followers on Twitter.. The city, south of Tokyo, prematurely fired its tweet just before noon (local time), announcing “North Korea has launched a missile” with blank spaces to indicate the exact time.

pparently a worker at the Yokohama Crisis Management Centre had prepared a draft Tweet that was to be released IF North Korea launched a missile attack on the city. geez… who hasn’t hit the publish button to early, and mistakenly sent something live. The city retracted the tweet about 20 minutes later and apologised to followers of @yokohama_saigai, the official said. Japan is on full alert ahead of an expected mid-range missile launch by North Korea, with Patriot missiles stationed in its capital to protect the 30 million people who live there.

TENSIONS RISE! South Korean and US forces have raised their alert status to “vital threat” before an expected North Korean missile test, with tensions high in the run-up to a key anniversary. Any launch could coincide with visits by US secretary of state John Kerry and NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who will both be in South Korea this Friday.

The North last week told foreign diplomats in Pyongyang they had until April 10 to consider evacuation, fuelling speculation of a launch between Wednesday and April 15 birthday celebrations for late founder Kim Il-Sung. On Tuesday the North reiterated a warning that the peninsula was headed for “thermo-nuclear” war and advised foreigners to consider leaving South Korea.

South Korean foreign minister Yun Byung-Se told parliament the launch could take place “any time” and warned Pyongyang it risked triggering a fresh round of UN sanctions. There is growing global concern that sky-high tensions might trigger an incident that could swiftly escalate. UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon said during a visit to Rome that he had spoken to the Chinese leadership to try to calm tensions, and would discuss the issue with US President Barack Obama :: Read the full article »»»»
