Pigeon Pie Cordoba Style

Pigeon Pie Cordoba StyleAn Argentinean provincial bureaucrat has been suspended over his proposal to feed local children feral pigeon meat in an effort to curtail the surge in the bird population.

Oscar De Allende, an official at the local environment ministry responsible for wildlife, was suspended over his “controversial statements on pigeon consumption,” Cordoba governor Jose Manuel de la Sota said in a statement.

“We estimate we have 600 million pigeons in Cordoba,” Mr De Allende told a local radio station. ”Let’s consider that pigeons are an abundant resource, not a pest. We are working with the people of Paicor to start a project that will turn pigeons into food”.

Earlier this week Mr De Allende proposed that Paicor, a government program for distributing food and clothing to poor students, serve pigeon meat at public schools. I can hear the sighs of sympathy for Mr De Allende, his was not a covert thought, the bureaucrat was quite serious about feeding the flying rats to the less fortunate, the impoverished of the province.

Cordoba’s cabinet chief Oscar Gonzalez called the initiative “nonsense” and insisted there are no plans for such a program.

The Australian Federal Government is calling for tenders of concept designs for Australia’s first radioactive nuclear waste dump. The Government had previously announced a preferred site for the dump at Muckaty Station, Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory.

The tender says the concept design will be appropriate for a site in arid to semi-arid areas of Australia.

The tender outlines say that the proposed facility should be designed to accommodate waste for at least 100 years, and equipment at the site may be required to repackage and retransport any radioactive waste stored at the facility.

Natalie Wasley from the Beyond Nuclear Initiative is campaigning against the dump. Ms Wasley was apparently unaware the tender was being released :: Read the full article »»»»

UPDATE! SNOOP LION JAH!

Posted: August 9th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Favorite New Thought, From The Web | Tags: , , , , , , , | Comments Off

SNOOP LION JAHAt the beginning of this month I ran a snippet on one of my most favourite musicians – Hip Hop superstar Snoop Dogg - and his rediscovery of his Rasta roots. Mr Dogg now wishes to be known as Snoop Lion.

This morning I have been humbled, Snoop Lion has launched his new Myspace page and we got an early friend-request! Mr Lions new tune – La LA La – is available for download from iTunes or Amazon.

Original Post: The mult award - including AVN, MTV & Stony’s - winning rapper told a press conference that he’s been inspired to change his stage name to something a little more Jah inspired.

While on a recent visit to a Rastafarian temple in Jamaica Snoop was apparently hit by a very puffy epiphany.

“I want to bury Dogg and become Snoop Lion,” the singer, wearing a Rasta knitted hat and dark glasses, said at a press conference on Monday.

Snoop said he went to Jamaica to get close to reggae legend Bob Marley’s roots. He said that while visiting a Rastafarian temple, “the high priest” told him his name was no longer Dogg.

“He looked me in my eyes and said, ‘No more. You are the light, you are the lion’,” Snoop told reporters. ”As a forty year old man in the music industry… you know the artists call me Uncle Snoop, I gotta give them something, I’m a wise man in this industry”  :: Read the full article »»»»
